In this 1-hour Agile Power Module for May 2024 (APM 5), students will delve into the essence of User Stories, the building blocks of many agile frameworks. Participants will learn about:
- Artifact Purpose: Students will grasp the concept of user stories as informal, user-centric explanations of software features expressed from the end user’s perspective and focus on value delivery.
- Use: Participants will discover that user stories go beyond mere requirements. They serve as a bridge between development teams and users, providing context and clarity. By attending this class, students will gain a deeper understanding of how to articulate value through user stories.
- INVEST Principle: We’ll explore the INVEST principle, emphasizing that user stories should be Independent, Negotiable, Valuable, Estimable, Small, and Testable. This framework ensures effective communication and collaboration within agile teams.
- Sprint Planning and Estimation: Students will learn how user stories fit into agile frameworks like Scrum and Kanban. They’ll understand how to estimate work, plan sprints, and manage their workflows more accurately.
