ACM A. M. Turing Award Symposium

June 23-24, 2017 at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco, CA

Since its inauguration in 1966, the ACM A. M. Turing Award has recognized major contributions of lasting importance in computing. Through the years, it has become the most prestigious technical award in the field, and is often referred to as the "Nobel Prize" of computing.

During the next several months, ACM will celebrate 50 years of the ACM Turing Award and the visionaries who have received it. Our aim is to highlight the significant impact of the contributions of the Turing laureates on computing and society. Our celebration will culminate with a symposium on June 23-24, 2017 at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco, which will include moderated discussions exploring how computing has evolved and where the field is headed. The event will be free of charge, and we'll notify you when online registration opens.

We have created two-minute and five-minute videos highlighting the event in June:

Metro West Coaching Circle

The Metro West Coaching Circle, created by Steve Daukas in 2016, is led by a group of experienced coaches who strive to create a learning experience for Agilists who want to take their coaching skills to the next level.  The goal of this group is for Agile practitioners to learn about and practice a wide range of coaching skills, for new coaches to receive advice and mentoring on how to tackle organizational challenges, and as a quality experience for seasoned practitioners who have an interest in assuming a coaching role.

The group meets monthly on the second Wednesday of each month at 1 New York Avenue, Framingham MA (just off Exit 12 from I-90/Mass Pike) and will follow an Open Space Technology approach to create a marketplace for the discussion of various topics of interest by those present in the circle.  Participants at a given meeting will create smaller groups of ~6 people to discuss common questions, challenges, or to explore topics of interest.

Preregistration is requested by Bose.  You can find this event on Eventbrite
